Netflix's "Sex Education" Announces Season 2 Release Date

Season two of Netflix's Sex Education officially has a return date. After previously confirming and subsequently teasing the new season to fans, the streaming service has confirmed that the new year will begin with new episodes.

On Monday, the show's official Instagram account shared a number of new promo images from the show and wrote, "She doesn’t even van gogh here....Sex Education returns jan 17." The perfect Mean Girls reference aside, the announcement goes on to include artistic images of the characters, including a shot of Maeve, Otis, and Eric that we would proudly hang in our rooms.

Unfortunately, the new images don't offer much in the way of details regarding plot lines for the new season, but previous images did hint at a possible trip to the police station and an adventure in the great outdoors.

TV Line had also reported that Otis, and his attempts at helping others, would again take center stage, as the site reported that this year's season would focus on Otis attempting to "master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola, whilst also dealing with his now strained relationship with Maeve. Meanwhile, Moordale Secondary is in the throes of a Chlamydia outbreak, highlighting the need for better sex ed at the school. Also, new kids come to town who will challenge the status quo."

Thankfully, only a few more weeks between us and new episodes remain, and with the first season still available for streaming, we're now officially considering a rewatch. Plus, you can also psych yourself up for the new episodes with the previously released trailer.
